Inspired by my Father, I have been a keen amateur photographer since I was very young. Growing up in Eastbourne, the first few (hundred) pictures I took were of the seaside and the lifeboat. I even had one of my photos of the lifeboat being launched in gale force 10 winds published in the lifeboat magazine at the age of 14. That’s not a bad start right?..
Over the years I have amassed a wide and varied knowledge in photography and also the art of processing images. I’d have to acknowledge that most of my knowledge stems from that initial spark of interest discovered in those early days in my Dad’s darkroom in the attic at home.
My favourite things to photograph are Motorsport, Aviation and Wildlife but you’ll see from my galleries that I really am happy to take up the challenge of any subject. Photography allows me to explore our surroundings and each project provides new and unique opportunities to capture the perfect image. It’s often a real challenge which I relish and never bore of. I love how a photo can capture many things – a moment in time or a story. They can take us back in time and allow us to appreciate the beauty in everyday things.
Whilst I don’t have a particular style of photography, preferring a variety, I will spend some considerable time researching venues and subjects and planning the shots I want to achieve.
I have undertaken serveral projects for friends – some can be seen under the ‘Projects’ menu and include aviation and automotive collections but I do hope the rest of my gallery expresses the wide range of projects I like to explore and images from these projects can be purchased on request.
